Capacity development workshop on communication development (C4D) was held on 21 to 23 August to discuss strategic planning in promoting and protecting the rights of children.

This workshop emphasises on critical theories relating to communication, development, culture, behaviour and social change and organised by United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, UPM.

The workshop was attended by institutions of higher learning such as Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and the International University of Malaya - Wales (UMW), government bodies such as the Communications and Multimedia Ministry, and the Ministry of Health and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia and the National Dakwah Council.
