UPM-ELTP

 


The UPM-ELTP (Universiti Putra Malaysia-English Language Test for Pilots) is designed to assess the English language competence of pilots using the rating scale developed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). All pilots are required to obtain a minimum level 4 in order to be certified. This test is endorsed and recognized by the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia for Malaysian pilot licensing.

The Department of English, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, collaborates with UPM Holdings Sdn. Bhd. in the administration of the UPM-ELTP.
The UPM-ELTP Administrative Center was set up in 2008 to administer the UPM-ELTP. The test center is located at the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, Universiti Putra Malaysia. 

The test is administered by a team of qualified and trained raters from the Department of English. All raters have a background in English language training with specializations in varied disciplines related to the study of the English language.
