UPM TEST ON COMMUNICATION IN ENGLISH (UPM-TOCIE)

  
 
ANNOUNCEMENT
Attention to all final year students who have taken the UPM –TOCIE test recently

The Department of English, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication will be conducting the English Enrichment Course (EEC) for students who have attained level 3 and below.

English Enrichment Course 1: Students with communication levels 2 and 1 This course will run from the 16 January till 27 January 2012 (2 weeks).

English Enrichment Course 2: Only for students with communication level 3. This course will run from 23 January till 27 January 2012 (1 week).

The course will be held at the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication. The rooms will be confirmed at a later date.

This course will cover:
  1. interactive skills and language use for formal and informal situations for effective communication at the workplace,
  2. the use of appropriate workplace language, and
  3. the application of relevant interview skills for job applications.

You will not be charged for the course.

You can start registering from the 23 till 30 December 2011 through the TOCIE website which can be accessed via http://www.fbmk.upm.edu.my/TOCIE.

TEST DESCRIPTION
Purpose To assess candidates' communication skills in English to help determine their ability to use the skills in the workplace
Test Duration 20 minutes
Test Format Discussion in groups of 5
Skills Tested Communication skills - accuracy, appropriacy, pronunciation and intonation, and use of language functions for managing group discussion
 
TEST MANAGEMENT
  • Students MUST be present at the test venue an hour before the test.
  • Each candidate must bring an identification card: Matric card or IC.
